AnalystAssist FAQs

AnalystAssist is a software platform designed from the ground up for Live Blood Analysts and Dry Blood Analysts. The questions below cover everything from what live blood analysis software actually is, to compliance, pricing, and how AnalystAssist differs from general medical or laboratory tools.

Q: Why is AnalystAssist the best software for live blood analysis?

AnalystAssist is a purpose-built software platform designed specifically for live blood analysis practitioners. Unlike general medical or laboratory software, it integrates directly with darkfield/phase contrast microscopes, allowing practitioners to capture live blood images, manage client records, score blood indications, and generate bespoke client reports — all within one secure, cloud-based system. It is the only software of its kind built exclusively by and for live blood analysts. Read more.

Q: What is Live Blood Analysis?

Live Blood Analysis (also known as Live Blood Microscopy or Live Blood Cell Analysis) is a holistic health assessment technique used by naturopaths, nutritional therapists, and complementary health practitioners. A small drop of fresh capillary blood is placed on a slide and viewed under a darkfield/phase contrast microscope at up to 1000x magnification. The practitioner observes the condition and behaviour of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and other blood contents to gain insights into nutritional status, oxidative stress, inflammation, and the body's internal terrain.

It is not a medical diagnostic procedure and should not be confused with clinical or laboratory blood testing. Live blood analysis is a holistic screening tool — only qualified medical doctors can diagnose disease.

Q: What is Dry Blood Analysis?

Dry Blood Analysis (also called the Oxidative Stress Test or Dried Blood Layer Analysis) is a complementary technique performed alongside Live Blood Analysis. A drop of blood is allowed to clot and dry on a microscope slide, and the resulting patterns are interpreted as indicators of oxidative stress, heavy metal toxicity, mineral deficiencies, and digestive imbalances. Both Live and Dry Blood Analysis sessions are managed within AnalystAssist.

Q: Is AnalystAssist a medical diagnostic tool?

No. AnalystAssist is not a medical diagnostic tool and is not intended for clinical use. It is designed for holistic health practitioners who use live and dry blood microscopy as a screening and educational tool, not for diagnosing medical conditions. AnalystAssist is not a medical device and does not integrate with clinical laboratory systems. What is Live Blood Analysis software?

Q: How is live blood analysis different from a medical blood test?

A conventional medical blood test involves sending a clinical sample to a laboratory, where it is processed by automated equipment to measure specific biomarkers such as cholesterol, blood glucose, or cell counts. Live blood analysis, by contrast, involves observing a drop of fresh blood in real time under a darkfield/phase contrast microscope as a holistic assessment tool. They serve entirely different purposes and are used in different contexts. AnalystAssist is software for the latter — it has no connection to clinical laboratory testing.

Q: Who should use AnalystAssist?

AnalystAssist is designed for any practitioner who performs Live and/or Dry Blood Analysis as part of their practice, including:

•     Qualified Live Blood Analysts

•     Naturopaths and Nutritional Therapists using darkfield/phase contrast microscopy

•     Functional Medicine Practitioners offering blood analysis sessions

•     Holistic Health Coaches certified in live blood microscopy

•     Students completing Live Blood Analysis training who are setting up their practice

Q: What is AnalystAssist NOT for?

AnalystAssist is not designed for:

•     Laboratory blood test interpretation or biomarker analysis

•     Medical diagnostics or clinical pathology workflows

•     Hospital or GP practice management

•     Haematology or biochemistry reporting

Q: Does AnalystAssist work with my darkfield/phase contrast microscope?

Yes. AnalystAssist connects directly to your darkfield/phase contrast microscope camera, allowing you to view live blood images in real time within the app, capture and store both live and dry blood images, and link those images automatically to the correct client and appointment record. Images can be compared across multiple appointments to track client progress over time.

Q: What makes AnalystAssist different from general practice management software?

AnalystAssist is the only practice management platform built from the ground up specifically for Live and Dry Blood Analysts. General health practice management tools do not offer:

•     Darkfield/phase contrast microscope camera integration

•     Live Blood Analysis-specific indication scoring and prevalence rating

•     Blood image comparison across appointments

•     Report templates designed around blood analysis findings

•     Workflow built around the actual LBA appointment structure

AnalystAssist was created by practitioners who understood exactly what was missing from existing tools.

Q: Does AnalystAssist have an AI feature?

Yes. AnalystAssist includes an AI-powered dictation tool that allows practitioners to dictate their appointment findings and report content, either live during the session or by uploading a recorded audio file. The AI transcribes and structures the content, which can then be edited and incorporated into the client report. This significantly reduces the time spent on administration after each appointment.

Q: Is AnalystAssist GDPR and HIPAA compliant?

Yes. AnalystAssist is fully compliant with GDPR (UK/EU), HIPAA (USA), PIPEDA (Canada), and AuPA (Australia) for the handling of Personal Health Information. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit, hosted on regional Microsoft Azure cloud servers (UK/EU, USA, Canada, Australia/NZ), backed up regularly, and isolated per user account.
